Extractions
When a tooth can not be saved, we can safely remove it.
If that’s the case, we can also help you get your bone ready for an implant. Dental implants are changing the way our patients in West Michigan replace their teeth. When a tooth is removed, it is often beneficial to place bone grafting to help that area heal and maintain the jaw bone’s ability to replace that tooth.
When a tooth is removed, the full healing process is typically 6 months. Patients normally feel back to normal a few days after an extraction, but the body now has a big job to remodel that area where the tooth was. Just like remodeling a home, there can be set backs, so it’s important we keep tooth extractions as a last resort.
Our best option is to get there before we can’t save the tooth. However, if your tooth or teeth are beyond saving, we have options for you.
